individual piece of thin wood and precisely fit it into the hollowed out section.
This solid hardwood box features an inlaid compass rose made from four different species of beautiful exotic hardwoods.
As each compass rose is inlaid into the hardwood box using similar hand tools to those used 200 years ago,
each compass is unique and will have slight variations.

Its hinged lid opens to reveal a 2 1/8 inch (5.4 cm) diameter beautiful polished solid brass compass.
This compass can be ordered with a custom solid brass plaque
to be mounted on the inside lid of the box.
